RYAN SEARLE

Ryan Searle is not just known for using heavy darts but his prowess on the dartboard too! Nicknamed ‘Heavy Metal’, Searle showed he belongs at the elite level with a run to the final of the 2021 Players Championship Finals.

The fast-throwing Searle won his first ProTour title in 2020, and has since won another floor event in each of the next three seasons. Made from 90% tungsten and available in a range of weights from 22g to 32g, these Ryan Searle Harrows darts are coated in black titanium nitride and finished off with red metallic rings on the barrels. Speaking to the Metro in 2021, Searle said: “I think the average is about 23g, but I just like throwing a heavier dart. Part of it is I like being a bit different, I’ve got long hair, not many other people have, no one else has got heavy darts so I just thought I should use them.”

The ‘Heavy Metal’ nickname comes from Searle’s weight of darts, as well as his musical taste. The man based in Holcombe Rogus, in Devon, also listens to the heavy metal genre of music.
