Yorkshire stormed to the top of the Darts Corner UKDA National League Premiership after a convincing 30-6 win at home against Suffolk on the official opening weekend of the new season.


The 2024-25 champions were in a ruthless mood as they took a 16-2 overnight lead, before claiming 14 of the 18 matches the next day to wrap up an impressive first win of the campaign.


Former PDC World Darts Championship qualifier Peter Jacques (101.08) and current PDC tour card holder Tom Sykes (100.56) both produced ton-plus averages at the Glasshoughton WMC to give the hosts a strong start to the 2026-27 season.

Elsewhere in the UKDA’s top tier, newly promoted West Midlands battled back from 15-12 down to draw 18-18 at home with Glamorgan.


Wins for Eve Watson (72.73) and Rhian O’Sullivan (67.30) helped the Welsh visitors pull away and take a 13-10 lead, before PDC tour card holder Tom Bissell (89.73) led the fightback for last season’s Championship winners.


The match’s final outcome went down to the last game, with Liam Meek beating Adam Teasdale 4-2 to earn Glamorgan a share of the spoils.

Essex started their Premiership campaign with a narrow 19-17 home victory against Dorset.


Bill Beasley (101.90) posted a ton-plus average for Essex in the Men’s B, while 14-year-old Jayden Walker (98.92) and Liam Blakeley (95.71) also impressed for the visitors.

Leicestershire began life in the Championship with a 21-15 victory at home against Hampshire.


Last season’s Division One champions claimed 10 of the last 14 points on offer to make a winning start on home soil, while there was also opening weekend triumphs for both Cornwall and Sussex, two sides who were relegated from the Premiership.


Matthew Knowles (95.43) topped the averages for Cornwall as they won the last three points to come back from 17-16 behind to beat Middlesex 19-17 at home.


In the battle of two relegated sides from the Premiership, Sussex prevailed 21-15 away at Hertfordshire.

In Division One, Salopian and Oxfordshire tasted home victories in their first fixtures of the new season.


The reigning WDF women’s world champion Deta Hedman helped lead Oxfordshire to a 19-17 win over Cheshire, while Salopian rallied from 16-15 down to beat Cambridgeshire 20-16.

Somerset are the early front runners in Division Two after beating Derbyshire 23-13 at home in their first game of the new season.


Elsewhere, Devon ran out 21-15 winners away at newly-promoted Shropshire, overturning an 11-5 deficit to defeat the Division Three champions at the Dawley Social Club.


The Black Country took the last three points to beat Berkshire 20-16 at home, while Clwyd fought back from 11-7 behind to edge past Staffordshire 19-17 on their travels.

Herefordshire marked their return to the county setup after a 20+ year hiatus with a 23-13 victory at home to the Isle of Wight in Division Four.


Breconshire lead the way in Division Four after a thumping 28-8 win away at Montgomery & Radnor, while the Wirral and Wiltshire enjoyed opening weekend success on home turf with victories over Pembrokeshire (24-14) and Bedfordshire (23-13) respectively.
