The darts Michael Smith currently uses are his signature Shot Michael Smith Achieve 24g Darts. In July 2023, Smith signed with the darts manufacturer Shot following a long and successful partnership with Unicorn.
On signing for Shot, Smith said: “I am over the moon to have signed with Shot Darts. From our very first meeting everything felt like a perfect fit. The standard of all the equipment produced by them has really impressed me and I cannot wait to see what is released going forward. The aim now is to try and win more PDC majors and form a very successful partnership.”

The Shot Michael Smith Precision Soft Tip Dart is the ideal choice for newcomers as it is available in 18g – our suggested dart weight for beginners in soft tip – and its 80% tungsten barrel provides a dependable grip so you can feel in control when the dart is in your hand.
The Shot Michael Smith Tenacious Steel Tip Dart is the perfect choice for more experienced steel tip players, and in particular for those who prefer a front weighted barrel. Why is Michael Smith called Bully Boy?
Michael Smith is called ‘Bully Boy’ from his previous work on a cattle farm in Littleborough. Smith would help out by tagging the new-born calves and the nickname ‘Bully Boy’ came from the farm owner.
Smith said: “When the cows gave birth, the farm owner – who used to be a bouncer at my auntie’s pub – got me to help with tagging the new-born calves. For 35 minutes, I got slammed in cowpats and cow’s muck. They didn’t always like it and I had one on its back, my fingers in its nose, legs in the air. He called me a bully, and that’s how the nickname stuck.”
